Good News!
As you can tell from the LOVELY posted pictures, I am pregnant. I know that the swimsuit shot isn't such a flattering picture, but I came across it and couldn't resist showing you what an overdue baby looks like! Let's hope I don't have quite as big a tummy as I did in that picture with this next one! Regardless of what it looks like, I LOVED being pregnant, and I LOVE being a mom--so I am really excited. I'm about 6 weeks is all... I know, lots of things could happen before I'm in that "safe" zone, but I'm still going to celebrate--and that means telling the world. I'll be due sometime in June, I don't know exactly when yet.
Bad News:
Okay, for those of you who have been following my CT-scan posts, I got another call from the doctor today. He's pretty sure that Joshua has an eosinophilic granuloma tumor. I know that's a huge name, basically, it's a tumor that affects bone (in his case the skull). The good news is that usually it's benign and is easily dealt with if there's a good response to the treatment. The bad news is that it's happening to my son and I can't help but play over the worst-case scenario in my mind. We have an appointment with a hemotologist (this is someone who works with cancer, Joshua doesn't have cancer but these types of tumors are often treated with chemotherapy, and he's considered a specialist in the field). We'll be seeing him on Tuesday, so although it's going to be a long weekend for me and my husband, at least we'll have a lot of our questions answered that soon. I worry about worrying because I know worrying isn't good for pregnancy and it doesn't change the situation anyway... but still, how can I help but worry??? Today was a hard day. I'm trying to take it one day at a time and not jump to conclusions. I appreciate your prayers in behalf of my Joshua. Please continue praying for him. I don't know much about this condition yet, I have a lot of questions as you can imagine. I'll post more when I know more.

Hope all goes good. The doctor you are going to meet with great. He is really good about answering questions.
Congrats on the prego! You still play basketball like a manic even with a little belly slowing you down. :)
Oh, that is terrifying. I'm so sorry. I'm sure everything is going to be fine, but yeah, it would be hard not to worry. You guys are in our prayers!
Congrats on #2 though!!! That is SO exciting!! June seems like the perfect time to have a baby (says the girl with the June birthday). :)
Congratulations on the baby! Joshua will be the perfect big brother.
It sounds like Joshua is getting great medical care. Scott and I will be praying for you to have peace until you can get more answers to your questions. I hope you'll let us know all about it.
Keep posting all those great pictures! Joshua is awfully photogenic and you make an adorable pregnant lady!
I'm so happy for you that you are pregnant. I'm sorry to hear about Joshua's situation. I know how stressful it can be when something is wrong with your kids. My little Olivia has a cist on her liver. We just have to wait it out to see if everything will be okay. You'll be in our prayers.
Congrats on the baby! I can't believe that prego picture is you because you don't look like you could have ever stretched out that far. We'll keep you in our prayers. Yeah, that was your sister in law I was reading about. My heart goes out to her and I'm praying for her too!
I am so sorry to hear about your little boy. I hope all goes well at the doctors. On the flip side, congrats on the pregnancy. How far overdue were you with Joshua? I love the picture, you are a cute preggo girl!
Ralae I hope you know how much I love Joshua even though he doesn't have me in his favorite people list. (it's pretty short) : ) We pray for you and I am excited about your baby!!! More grandbabies !!!!!
What a post! Definitely good and bad news. I think having a sick child is one of the hardest things in life. You just wish you could make it all go away. I will be praying for you and little Joshua.
Congratulations on the pregnancy! It is always such a miracle when a little life begins to grow.
