Ummm, I just reread the previous entry...

Okay, so I just reread it. I read it very quickly the first time through. There are some good points, but there are two mild cuss words in case any of you are offended by that. Also, I did think that being a first time mother was difficult. But, I think being a mother of multiple children has it's own set of challenges that need overcoming also. I mean, my brain is seriously mush at the end of the day.

All in all, I'd say this. I LOVE being a mom. Is it hard? Yeah, but it's also great. Is it possible to savor every tiny moment? No. I used to feel guilty and break down into tears if I had a bad day because I hadn't savored it all. All of a sudden I'd start screaming at myself (in my head, I'm not that crazy yet) about all of the things I did wrong that day... and, there was no margin for a little forgiveness. I still have days like that, but I think I am learning that it's okay to feel frustrated sometimes. You just pick yourself up and do a little better in the morning.

I have also learned to laugh. Sometimes when I am feeling lonely, frustrated, bored, tired (extremely tired) or whatever it may be, I try to find the humor in it. For instance, there was a day when every single one of my children decided to poop on me. Literally, on me. That's something that you just gotta laugh at. My sanity depends on laughter (and sometimes a hot shower--ALONE). But, at the end of the day, I can truely say that I love being a mom. If you can't savor every moment, it's okay. I mean it's hard to savor getting called on to change wet bed sheets at 2 am, and then have to nurse at 3, just to be woken up again at 6:30 (to start the day of course). Some nights are far worse. Who would adore that??? But, in moments when I feel like motherhood is kicking my butt, I remind myself that the insane moments with small children really are fleeting, and I will miss it-- someday. So, I do the best I can.

Anyway, with that said, I really liked the second half of the article a lot.

thank you for the story. I am going to post it to my blog also because I too would like to keep it to read later. Here is a link to another blog post that you need to read. I love the comparison of Chronos and Kairos. I know you will like it :)
