Scary face contest:

Here is our jack-o-lantern:

Joshua and Mercedes have been begging me to carve a pumpkin since September when the stores began putting pumpkins out. I had been saying "not yet" like a broken record and finally gave in. We carved a pumpkin about the size of a softball and Joshua was thrilled with it. We're saving the "big" one (about the size of a small basketball) for when Daddy is able to do it. They're excited. Joshua and Mercedes wanted it to have a scary face, so we practiced making scary faces. That's why they're frowning and looking like weirdo's in the pictures. We love Halloween over here (at least the children do).
The other night, kind of on a whim, I decided it would be fun to do a spooky dinner. So, we lit a candle and had "mummy toes", "worm soup", "goblin drink", and "boo berry delight". It was fun. The next day for lunch, we had "ghost" sand"witches". I had seen all of these done before on friends' blogs, so I am not an originator, but I LOVED stealing the ideas and I think it will become a new tradition.
