Okay, it's that time again. This is the part of my blog where I show-off what I've made and try to be humble about it... HAHA! I am a beginner, that I do know to be true. But, I must say that I am pretty pleased at the way this little baby turned out.
I want to someday make a table. However, since I am pretty much learning as I go, I decided to start with baby steps. So, I made a "small" table as a way of trial and error to see what would work when I actually get around to making a full-scale one (that "someday" that's out there on the cloud in the distance).
First, I built a simple table with no supports, and you could see every drill hole. I didn't like it, plus it wasn't sturdy at all. After talking with my dad, I decided to make some supports around the framing. That helped considerably. Then, to give the top a nice, sleek look (without all of the drill holes showing), I carefully placed some boards on top. Finally, I stained the top a deep "Jacobean" color (didn't even hassle with poly) and spray-painted the bottom a glossy black. And, of course, it would not be a "Ralae Original" if I hadn't distressed it just a little bit. So, there you have it.
Oh, I also added a few coats to my computer table to make it look a little nicer, and it TOTALLY looks awesome now too.
