I've been MIA from the blogging world recently. I haven't posted in nearly two weeks! We were doing a lot of hanging out as a fam waiting for the inevitable beginning of a new semester. That new semester has now begun, and so I am back.
Jon Mark started his second year of law school this week. He had been fortunate (or unfortunate depending on how you look at it) to begin studying a week prior so as to get ahead a little. I guess it's a good thing that he did that, because even after having done so, he is WAY busy. I'm so proud of him for his hard work. I should have taken his picture for the first day of school, oh well. Jon Mark sat on a panel to answer questions that first year law students had. He told me that a girl on the panel said that she didn't know one person who made it through the first year without having a good cry. When it was Jon Mark's turn to speak, he told her that now she had met someone who hadn't because he most certainly did not cry. He said he got a good laugh out of that one.
I've been a little busy myself, or doing my best to keep myself busy (what's that? We're only two days into the semester?). Joshua started preschool, I'll post more on that later. And, since Mercedes and Lukey Bear are such good nappers, I have a solid two hours to do a project (or veg--depending on my mood). When my dad was here, he helped me out with getting some tools and wood. So, today I made a shoe stand for the kids shoes. I'm not done yet, it still needs to be painted, but I imagine I'll finish it up tomorrow. It was fun using my very own saw for the first time. I thought for sure I'd saw off a finger and was a little nervous (I have only used table saws) but it was fun.
Oh, the kids have been awesome. We continue to do our morning outings. I try to make them fun like trips to the museum or park. But, sometimes we do have to do things like go grocery shopping and trust me, that is NOT fun for either the kids or myself. I HATE grocery shopping. They're usually pretty good, but after about a 1/2 an hour, things start to go south. We've spent a lot of time outdoors, trying to soak in the sunshine for as long as we have it. I know winter is just itching to shove the sun away. Yes, I know it's only August, but still. Winter's there. She's waiting for me. Soon enough she'll come out and try to make me stay inside. She won't succeed though; because if there's one thing I hate more than winter, it's cabin fever. Ahh, I don't wanna go postal.
My little Luke is an absolute angel. I'd have ten babies if I knew they'd all turn out to be like him. He doesn't cry, he sleeps through the night (yeah, you heard me--my baby sleeps through the night--woot woot!), and he smiles all.the.time. He's just cool like that. Yes, he spits up A LOT, but that's the only misdeed this kid has ever been capable of doing. Oh, I just adore that little guy!!!!
Mercedes is becoming a little picky in her attire. She ALWAYS wants to wear her "I love Grandpa" shirt or her "I love Daddy" shirt. She gets really upset when I try to get her dressed in something else and pats her chest and firmly says, "I want I love Papa". If I tell her it's dirty and to wear something else, then she pushes me aside and starts rummaging through her clothes to find it. She is also in the "I do it myself" phase. She wants to dress herself, put on her own shoes by herself, walk down the stairs by herself and so on...
Joshua LOVES Captain America. Correction: he IS Captain America. That is, until yesterday when he made up his own superhero: ImagineTop. His super power? He spins really really fast when you push the top of his head. It's cute. He's got a song and everything.
Well, it's late. There's your update (for the two or three people who read this) :) Hugs and kisses. I'm off to bed.

Don't start worrying about winter yet! We still have the best season in the world.... Fall! Ohio Falls make the winter almost worth it. ;)
P.S. We need to hang out more.
Cute cute cute kids!!!
Loved the update!! It's fun to read about other former-Arizonan's adventures in school :)
I can definitely wait for Winter to come here in NH. I can already see the beginnings of fall here...
