Okay, so yesterday I posted that I had had a miscarriage. Today, well, I am not so sure that I did have one. I bled. I had bright red blood in an amount that was like a light period. I thought for sure that that was the beginning of a miscarriage. But, there wasn't any pain associated with it, and it totally stopped... almost as quickly as it began. I kept waiting for this impending miscarriage because I do know that bright red blood is never a good sign. It never came. Today I have only had very minor spotting and the color is brown (the good color). SO... I have NO idea what is going on with my body. Those of you who have had a similar experience, please let me know what was up. I don't have a doctor right now or any insurance. I may just go in to the doctor to be checked out so I can stop worrying and pay out of pocket. I don't know...
Surprise, I am pregnant.
Surprise, I am having a miscarriage.
Surprise, I have no idea...
Love, Ralae

I had a lot of catching up to do on your blog and I don't think I'm quite done yet. How fun to be near Lake Erie - gotta love the great lakes. Your house is so cute. :) Have you been to a dr yet? I bled once during a pregnancy and it ended up being nothing wrong, so you never know...
I wish I had advice, but my miscarriage was the real thing with the pain and everything. But if I were you, I think I'd try to find a doctor. I'm so sorry, keep us posted.
A lot of places that offer free pregnancy tests (like women's care centers or pregnancy centers) also offer free ultrasounds in early pregnancy... it might be worth going into one of those to ease your mind one way or another. I've known people to bleed through their entire pregnancies and have perfectly healthy babies, so it's not abnormal to bleed (even heavily) in the 1st trimester, but I agree that it's concerning.
I'd just call around and see if there's a low-income women's center around. I'm sure you can find somewhere to check your hcg levels or do an ultrasound for cheap (or free!).
GOOD LUCK! I'll look around and email you if I find anything.
I'm so sorry you are going through that. I have bled a little with several of my pregnancies, but I've also miscarried a few too. It's always hard. One time, I took 2 positive tests and then started bleeding heavy. I thought I was loosing the baby and the dr sent me to the ER. It turns out I was never pregnant. They told me sometimes pregnancy tests give false positives. I wasn't sure how feel about that. I went from happy to devastated to confused. I suggest a blessing and medical help as soon as possible. I'll be praying you get some good news!
Here's what I think (since you asked :)
I'd take another pregnancy test. And then wait. In an ultrasound at this point the only thing that they would be able to see is a sack. maybe, but just barely a possible baby. But definitely no heart beat. So they wouldn't really be able to tell you if the baby was alive or not yet. 6 weeks is the earliest you can see a heart beat 8 weeks is better. Truth is you don't have the money right now. You are not in pain so it's not ectopic and thus not threatening you life. At this point it would be a waste of money. That being said, if you could find a women's clinic that could do for free...THEN HECK WOMAN GO DO IT!! But to spend money on it right now...I'd wait. Ultrasounds are wicked expensive 100-400 bucks in the state of Utah. With possibility that they say, "your too early come back in two weeks and pay another 400 bucks". There's my two cent's. I'll probably call you before you even get a chance to read this. I love your guts!!
