Well, I must admit, it has been easy for me to throw myself a pity-party recently. I don't do it on purpose, and I blame pregnancy hormones for it. If I am being honest, I have felt a little lonely today. Being on bedrest hasn't been the easiest thing with two little kids and I think all of us are getting a little bit of cabin fever. I was feeling pretty good today, so we ventured out. Our little adventure was fun while it lasted... but it caused me to bleed a lot more. Anyway, here is what Mercedes looked like most of the time...
She hates being strapped in. If she's allowed out of her stroller, she is much happier.
Joshua and Mercedes loved the memorial that they had for the veterans of WWII. Joshua loved running around the circle over and over again.
He is very much into being a big boy. He has potty power with peepee (we're working on the poop). I like this picture because he looks like he's giving his big boy strut.
He thought the tank was really cool.
His cheesy camera smile.
Mercedes favorite thing to do is to empty my pantry. It's no annoying, but cute at the same time. She is constantly bringing me food from the pantry and wanting me to open it and give it to her. She's quite the cutie these days and Jon Mark can often get her to repeat different phrases but she doesn't talk so much on her own yet.
Jon Mark wouldn't let me take a classic "first day of school" picture. So, I snapped these when he wasn't expecting it yesterday.
Joshua has been saying some of the funniest things lately. He really likes to give Heavenly Father credit for giving us everything: roads, trains, cars, airplanes... etc. I have been trying to teach him the Heavenly Father does give us everything, but sometimes it's through other people. For example, He created man and man makes trains. Joshua: "So, Heavenly Father told those men, go make some trains for Joshua?" Me: "Something like that." Joshua: "That's very nice of him. He tells daddy to go to school so that he can someday buy me more toys. That's very nice of Heavenly Father, huh mom?!" And, the other day he asked me if God made my nipples. Yes, Joshua, he did. He made all of me. Funny kid. He will spontaneously tell me that he loves my guts (that's what his aunt Michelle says to him) and it is the cutest thing to hear. Sometimes he will give me a hug and tell me that he's sorry I feel sick. He's a very sweet little man and I love him. Even when he poops in his pants on a daily basis.

Finally some pictures! Mercedes looks so much like Joshua in some pictures, it is funny. I miss them so much. I miss just hanging out all day long. I miss having girl chats and just driving because we were bored. :) I wish I was there to help you out right now, but know my thoughts and prayers are continually with you. Love you
They do look a lot alike in those pics! I'm sorry that you're on bedrest and lonely. You are so allowed to throw pity-parties. That's got to be so hard to have just moved and not really know anyone and then be on bedrest.
Good job on potty-training. I'm so scared to potty-train a boy. When it comes time, I'll be asking for some advice!
Ralae,
I think that Mercedes looks so much like Jon Mark's babies pictures, maybe it is just because she is bald?!?! I just thought it was a bit weird. I love the stories. Joshua is so cute. I'm glad that he recognizes how nice Heavenly Father is especially to him.
