I don't have any pictures to post yet, but we had a great time in Utah for our family vacation. I wish I had taken more pictures to document all of the fun activities we were able to cram into our week long stay, but unfortunately, I wasn't very good at bringing our camera along. Here's a quick recap of all that we did:
Monday: Visited with the family (Jaron, Michelle, Jessica, Sawyer, Mark, Aimee, Dakota, Jackie, and Kevin).
Tuesday: Took the Razers out for a spin (ATV's). Joshua really loved riding in the Razers and I think he wished he was old enough to be behind the wheel. Jon Mark also loved the Razers (the faster he drove, the more he loved it). I liked it, too, but more so when I wasn't the one driving. I don't trust myself to be safe enough.
Wednesday: We went wake boarding and tubing at Deer Creek. This was a lot of fun! I have only been able to wake board once before in my life, but even with lack of experience I must say that I was pretty awesome at it!! How's that for humility?! Jon Mark could only ride the tube because his ankle is still healing, but as long as he felt like his life was somewhat in danger, he loved being on the tube. I keep telling him that he can have fun without feeling the adreneline rush, but I guess that's what sepparates the thrill seekers from us normal people. He took some nasty spills. Brother Larsen (Jaron's dad) was determined to flip the tube going at really fast speeds, and one time I saw Jon Mark actually flip over Mark or Jessica in the air as they all went flying into the lake. I took some nasty spills as well, and Joshua (on the kiddie ride) almost went over also. Luckily, Jon Mark had a good hold on Joshua and was able to keep him on the tube, but needless to say, Joshua was not happy about it and told Brother Larsen in a lecturing voice, "I was telling you to slow down as we pulled into the station!" I don't think Joshua was a fan of the boat ride after that. The next day, all of us felt a little beat up.
Thursday: We went to a water park and a bounce house. This was probably Joshua and Mercedes most favorite part of the trip. We were even able to take Mercedes down the water slide with us, and she sucked her thumb the whole time down not even phased a little bit by the new experience. Joshua thought that the bounce house was one big bed to jump on and never wanted to leave. We had dinner at Mark and Aimee's that night and had fun playing Band Hero. That was a new experience for me, and I must say that I rocked on the Spice Girl's song!!! HAHA to all who actually heard it!
Friday: On Friday we went swimming at Jessica's apartment. Joshua liked showing off his new swimming skills and Jessica's apartment is very fancy--especially the theater room in the club house. We also stopped by BYU and reminiced about all of the fun times we had had there. We picked up some BYU attire for all four of us (I about passed out when I saw the total at the register). That night we went to Jackie and Daniel's house for a BBQ, and visited with Jerome. On Friday we found out that two of our tires (on our cars parked at my inlaws in AZ) had been slashed, I had broken Jaron's glasses, and I had lost our brand new cell phone. But, other than all of that, we had a carefree vacation without complications. Thanks to Brother and Sister Larsen for all that they did for us. Thanks to Dakota for "bein' Joshua's girl". And, thanks to everyone else who showed us a good time!
Now we are currently living with my inlaws before we head out to Ohio on the 8th of August. I think Joshua and Mercedes are quite confused now that their world has been turned upside down and inside out.
