So, have you ever had those, "oh, no" moments with kids. You know, where you see a potentially bad situation unfolding moments prior to it actually doing so... you'll know what I mean in a moment...
We're at Target doing some winter item shopping when I see a rather small woman (like in her fifties) in the isle right in front of me (just so you know, by "small" I actually mean "dwarf"). I think to myself, "Oh, no! I hope Joshua doesn't say anything." Moments after I had that thought, Joshua starts to laugh. Oh no! I quickly try to hustle past her before he says what he is about to say. Oh no! Someone blocked my escape... there is no escape. Here it comes.
Joshua: Hey Mommy! Do you see that funny little girl?!"
Mommy: (silence) Maybe if I don't answer him he will let it go. I mean, yeah, he said it pretty loud... but maybe she didn't hear.
Joshua: Didn't you hear me? Mommy, (cue his loud laughter) do you see that funny little girl? Mommy: (Whispering in his ear) Joshua, don't say that. That's not nice.
Joshua: (Not whispering) Why isn't that nice? She's just a funny little girl.
Mommy: (Oh, I see a way out, I'm taking it. I'll explain it all to Joshua as soon as we are away from other people)

I LOVE IT!!!! Thanks for the laugh. Rebekah did a similar thing at Walmart when she saw a dwarf. She stopped dead in her tracks and just STARED. If the lady moved Bekah's stare would follow. After me calling her name to follow me like 10 times she finally came and said really loud. "Mommy she is just my size!" She gets really excited when she sees things just her size.
I hope that every night you tell those two how much we love them!!! What a cute story. and love the other ones you told me too. If Joshua was here with me, I would give him a great big hug and tell him that he makes my heart happy.
Oh no, I can only imagine! That's really funny...because my kid isn't the one who said it. :) Honestly though, what can you do? Those experiences will make for funny stories later on, right?
