First Smiles

These are pictures of Banana at about 2 and a half months old.  She LOVES bath time!  She was giving me so many smiles that I just had to run and grab my camera.

Sorry that they are out of focus, I was trying to capture it quickly while trying to make her laugh at the same time.  Banana is so adorable.  I can't get enough of her.  I love watching her suck on her tongue while she sleeps.  I love how easy she is to smile and talk.  I love how she concentrates so hard on kicking her toys at the end of the bouncer chair.

She is such an easy-going kid, even when she is getting blood work done.  Her last ultrasound showed a lump on her liver, so she has to get a CAT scan done next week to get a closer look, but we are hopeful that it is nothing to be too concerned about.  I feel comforted knowing that Heavenly Father chose me to be her mom for a reason, and Jon Mark to be her dad.  I feel stronger now knowing that Heavenly Father is aware of my family.  He does hear our prayers.  We hear often that we are to be as little children, to submit our will to the Father's.  I've heard this, and yet I understand it more completely now.  I find that when I stubbornly pray for the Lord to bend His will to my own, I feel more stressed and worried.  But, once I am able to fully submit my will to His, all of a sudden there is an out-pouring of love and comfort.  The stress I had been carrying is lifted from me and I am brought closer to my Savior who has felt it all before.
It has been a sweet experience.  His yoke is easy and His burden is light.  I am certain that the Lord loves us.  I am certain that He bore all things so that He could know how to succor us.  Our Father in Heaven sees the whole picture, He knows what is best.  And, by embracing this knowledge, we allow the Holy Ghost to comfort us and to strengthen us.  I love that!  That is what peace is!

I love this little girl!  She brings us so much joy, and she has taught us so much.  I am so thankful that Heavenly Father has sent her to us.
