Scripture Power Game

So, this is just a funny little story that I wanted recorded.

The other day, Joshua suggested that we play a game he learned about when we were reading the Friend magazine. The game was to quote people in the scriptures and to guess who said what. I made some adaptations because I thought that would be too difficult for the ages of my children, so instead of quotes, we would tell stories and guess who the person in the story was.

I was amazed at the scripture knowledge that Joshua had displayed. One time during the game he actually stumped me (not because I don't know the story, but because I was experienceing a temporary brain freeze--just so you know...). He asked me which prophet was brought up into heaven with his city because they were so good. I said Zenoch. He corrected me and said, Enoch. Temporary lapse. But, I was still impressed. He also came up with questions about who named the plants and animals. And, he asked us who it was that was asked to build a big ship (and he even told us that there were two answers on that one).

Well, Mercedes was really enjoying the game, too. She, however, didn't give correct answers...

Me: Who was thrown into a den of lions?
Mercedes: (In all seriousness) Darth Vader!
Joshua: (Laughing) No! Daniel!

Joshua: Who was asked to build a big ship? There are two answers for this one.
Mercedes: (Still serious) Princess Leia!
Joshua: (Laughing harder) No, Nephi and Noah!

Joshua: Who named the plants?
Mercedes: (Now laughing) Chewbacca!
Joshua: (Laughing hardest) NO, it was Adam!

It was fun.
