Silly Joshua. He's such a fun and cute kid. The other day, he said to me, "Mommy, I feel as though my grandmas' in Arizona are missing me. We need to be sure to call them as soon as we get home". We did call, but neither one answered. He was a little disappointed. He really likes to talk to on the phone recently, even though he'll only actually talk for a few minutes at a time.
These pictures are showing off his train conductor hat that Grandma Haws sent to him a while ago. He loves this hat and is always wearing it. If you know my son, you know how much he wants to be a train conductor someday. One of the pictures shows his googly eye. His Papa McAvoy (who he sometimes refers to as Papa Mac) showed him how to be silly with a googly eye and so that is what he is doing.
Joshua loves to run. He is always running, I'm not so sure he knows how to walk.
He's really good at riding his bike, although he is now afraid to ride down any sort of decline because he had quite a traumatic fall the other day. We were on a walk and he was riding his bike in the road (there are hardly ever any cars driving on that residential street) and I was pushing the stroller next to him. Anyway, on the hill he took off (not on purpose) and got out of control. He ended up landing in the middle of the street. I pushed the stroller to the sidewalk and went running over to him. I got there just in time for Joshua to see a car approaching (it was not about to hit him or anything, in fact it had stopped a good deal away from him) and it scared him pretty bad. So, now he is sure to ride right next to me, and he gets off and walks his bike ANYTIME he feels there is any sort of decline.
Joshua is a great helper and big brother.
Joshua loves being told stories.
Joshua likes it when I tell him the "stories" behind the songs he hears on the radio. "Mommy, what's this song about?" Good thing we listen to country music or primary songs. On Sunday we were listening to classical music and he kept asking me what the songs were about and I'd turn the question back on him. He was very insightful. "I think this song is a happy song because it's fast and maybe it's about a mermaid swimming in the ocean, and she's happy."
Oh, I love my Joshua!
