Here is a dress that I made for Mercedes out of one of my old shirts. I thought it turned out cute.
The stitching is WAY crooked and so don't you dare look too closely. I thought about seam-ripping it and trying it again, but then decided it would be as crooked the second or tenth go round anyway. So, I decided to just take each project as a learning experience and not get too frustrated. I want to keep the sewing low key and fun while I am learning, otherwise it wouldn't be the fun hobby I am wanting.
She looks really cute in it. I like the rhinestone detail I added on the front (the flower). I hope it holds up in the wash. I gathered the sides, but the gathering stitch has already come out, so I must have done something wrong. Oh well. It's cute ungathered also.
Considering that I didn't use any kind of pattern, I was pleased with the result. I do wish I had measured Mercedes or something because it's kind of big.
