This picture was taken before a football game. I am not a huge fan of watching football, although I do like playing it. So, Jon Mark talked me into going all out for a game.

This was one of our engagement photos.

This was taken on our favorite mountain (Squaw Peak in Utah). We LOVE going hiking together. Some of our best talks happened on this mountain.
Jon Mark has always told me that Valentine's Day was a day for the man to celebrate his woman and that the woman doesn't need to do anything for the man. He always goes way out to make me feel special and loved. I try to do something small in return and have been a little creative over the years--or at least I try. For instance, our first year (when we were still dating) I made a scrapbook of all of our special things (notes we'd written, inside jokes, quotes, etc). This year, my mom gave me the idea of keeping a journal of all of the things I love about Jon Mark. I'm always writing him notes and leaving them around the house, but now I'm going to record them all in this journal over time. I'm going to wrap it up as a present to give to him on Valentine's Day but still add to it, if that makes sense. It's been fun for me. The other day, I spent two hours (while Joshua was sleeping) to write down a thoughtful list of reasons why marrying him was the best decision of my life. Then, I wrote down some of the things I love about our relationship. And, I am trying to watch for things he does that makes me fall in love with him all over again. For instance, the other day Jon Mark went grocery shopping with me (I love it when he does this--but he absolutley hates grocery shopping). And, the other day he carried the heavy carseat into the house so I wouldn't have to in the morning (something I hate to do). The experience has reminded me that it really is all of the little things that make such a difference. The journal has helped me stop and think about what a great husband I've got. I feel so lucky that he made me his wife. Do any of you have other creative ideas???? I'm always looking for more!

That is such a good idea!!! I like the journal idea. I've been working on "100 reasons why I love you" for Jaron. (I do the 14 days of valentines. Where each day has a theme. and that is one of the days) And it has been a really good experience. The journal thing is more permanent and I like that!!!
That is so sweet and awesome ralae! Your little boy is so cute. Congratulations on the new baby.
That journal idea was in the ensign, and I totally want to do it! It'll be so nice for kids and grandkids to read and set a good example of showing love to your spouse. Good job to you!
I really like that journal idea. I might have to try something like that.
