27... Where did the time go???

So, I saw Cambi's blog that when she had her birthday she posted a very "flattering" picture of herself from her childhood. Let's just say the early ninety's were in full swing fashion wise. Well, I thought that'd be good to do for my 27th birthday, but I don't have any of my childhood pictures. I figure I'll embarrass myself sometime down the road when I can get a good one from my parents house. I'll make sure that it's during my awkward years (doesn't everyone go through an awkward phase?). Perhaps it will be sometime from elementary school when poofy bangs were in style (what were we thinking?), side ponytail's were the bomb (who knew that fad would catch on?), or when my T-shirt was gathered in a knot on my right hip (with one of those sequined thingys to hold it in place... come on, you know what I'm talking about!). Yes, I was a hip little kid, following all of the latest fashions that we hope we'll never see again, but yet they always seem to come around once again... I'm excited to see what I can find to post. I guess you'll just have to wait and see.

Anyway, Jon Mark took me to IHOP for my birthday dinner (we celebrated last night because he has mutual tomorrow). I LOVE french toast when I'm preggo. Then, he took me on a shopping spree to get some comfortable maternity clothes. I wasn't expecting anything on top of his real present, but my mom ruined that surprise and he said I needed a surprise for my birthday.

Here's what happened... we ate Sunday dinner with my parents this past Sunday and my mom asked me what I got for Valentine's day. I told her I got a 32 GB USB port. Then, with this little smirk she said, "did you get anything else" wink, wink. I replied, "No." Then, she said, "Oh, but Jon Mark bought you a DVD burner, too." My dad started cracking up about how my mom doesn't know how to keep secrets and Jon Mark is sitting there shaking his head in defeat, and I said, "that must be what I am getting for my birthday." It was really funny, but I think Jon Mark was disappointed that I wasn't surprised on my actual birthday. That's alright, because now I have a USB drive, a DVD burner, two shirts, and a pair of ultra comfy maternity jeans (the really groovy kind with the elastic waist band that comes up to my rib cage).

Yes, I turned 27 years old today. I think in my mind I'll forever be 21 (hey, that would be a great name for a store! JK). I had a good day. Time really does fly! I went out and bought some anti-ageing make-up just to do what I can to hold onto my youthful beauty for as long as possible!!!! HAHA! I think the whole "anti-ageing" thing is a gimmick. Oh well, I guess it sold me in the end!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! Your mom is so cute. That was a pretty funny story. I can see Jon Mark in my mind, and shaking his head is exactly what I guessed he would've done. Don't worry Ralae, you don't look a day over 21!!!!

Happy Birthday! It's crazy how fast time goes. Our ten year high school reunion is already coming up. I'm glad you had a fun day.

You're such a hotty! You totally could pass for 21, although don't you think the kids and the tummy make you want to not be 21? Deep...

Happy late birthday! You look great! I hope I look that good when I'm your age (Ha! J/k) What a nice hubby, but tell him never to tell the parents what he's doing, they always give it away one way or another!
