Okay, so Joshua said a prayer the other night that was so awesome. I mean that sincerely. It was awesome. We have been trying to get him to say less repetitious prayers and to be more thoughtful. So, when he said this one, I was grinning ear to ear. It's also a little funny. I wrote it down as word for word as I could without him knowing (because I just HAD to document it--ya know?!). I'll leave off the closing so that it isn't irreverent.
Dear Heavenly Father,
I'm thankful for my mommy and daddy. Help me to keep the commandments and never say no to my mom or dad again. Help me to be a good listener. Thank thee for Mercedes who is the cutest girl in the world. Help her to be nice and to not hit me, or pull my hair, or Luke's hair. Help Mermer to not tackle us in a mean way, only in a good fun way. And, help her to learn how to listen. Help us to make it safely to Arizona this summer, you know like no traffic jams or flat tires or hurt cars. Send the angels to our house to keep us safe from fires and tornadoes and bad stuff like that. ... Amen
