Joshua and Mercedes are spoiled by our relatives in Arizona and Utah. They get cards and packages at all of the major holidays and it has become an expectation to one little three year old boy who shall remain nameless... Joshua (uh, I mean that nameless little boy), was so excited when he got his Easter package from Mommom McAvoy. Mercedes was pretty excited too, although she lacks the vocabulary to express it. Joshua went from one thing to the next as he pulled out surprise after surprise. Next time I should remember to video tape it because it really was cute. Mercedes kept saying "wow". I finally took out my camera a little while after they had opened the package and they each showed something that they got. Joshua was quite taken with the snake and frog that stretches, and also his new dinosaur coloring set thingy (I'm not sure what it's called). The coloring thingy has entertained him for hours. Mercedes was quite taken with the purse and calculator that she believes to be a cell phone.
Mercedes is quite the little girl and loves her purses and "phone". Here she is "calling" someone.
Okay, now onto the ultrasound. I had an ultrasound done yesterday to confirm whether or not the baby was in a transverse lie inside my uterus. The great news is that it's not! I was really worried about this since if it was, then I would have had to have a c-section (something I do not ever want to experience). But, the ultrasound confirmed that the baby is indeed head down and that it is as cute as ever. I have never had an ultrasound this late in the pregnancy before, and it was kind of neat. The 3-D pictures that they took were so clear that the baby looks like a real baby, not an abstract picture of one. Immediately when they showed us the picture, I thought it looked identical to one of my children. Can you guess which one? So, now I ask, do you think it's a boy or a girl??? I'm excited to find out.
The baby looked healthy, they were a little concerned that it's big. They kept asking me if I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes or if babies just run big in our family. I don't have diabetes, and both of my children have been over eight pounds, but I guess I don't consider that to be huge. They think it will probably weigh at least over 8 and half pounds, but that wouldn't be a surprise. They also said that I have a high level of amniotic fluid, not sure what that means... but, they told me that when my water breaks it will be like a waterfall. One last thing, they didn't seem too concerned but said that one of the kidneys is larger than the other. They said it could be nothing, or it could be that it has a mild blockage. I don't think it's too severe, but a test will have to be done after the birth to make sure. Prayers are appreciated :)
Well, one thing is for certain, and maybe I am baised, but Jon Mark and I make some cute babies!

The baby looks like Joshua, right? I think so anyway! A very cute baby nonetheless. I can't wait to know the gender.
