Random Happenings

So, you know by now what I do when it feels like it's time to post again, but I am lacking the time to upload pictures.  Yep, random ramblings.  Here's a few random thoughts...

1. My mom is coming in just a couple of hours.  I'm really excited about this and feel better about not knowing the exact time of arrival for this new little one.  While we are way fortunate to be living next door to the best neighbors ever (who would help us out no matter what time of day or night) it's just nice knowing that I'll have a live-in helper for the next two weeks.  My kids are way excited too.  Joshua has picked so many flowers today for Grandma Haws and has been talking non stop about when her plane is coming.  Mercedes seems to know about the excitement too.

2. The doctor think that my baby is "transverse".  Basically that means that the baby is sideways in there and without moving, a vaginal delivery is impossible.  So, that makes me nervous about the birth of this baby.  However, I do have an ultrasound schedules for Monday so hopefully that will prove the doctor wrong.  He had a hard time feeling much of anything because I was having contractions thoughout the entire exam and as a result my uterus was tight.  So it is possible he was wrong.  I'm hoping for that anyway.

3.  I'm worried about my nephew.  I hope all is well with him.  He's in the hospital right now getting antibiotics for an infected lymph node.  I haven't been updated today, so I hope everything is going well for him.  He's in my prayers.

4. I love the weather today.  We went on a little walk this morning and again this afternoon.  It's gorgeous today, and I wish the sunshine was here for a while.  It's been raining every day almost for two weeks (or so it feels).  I hear the rain is supposed to be back again tomorrow.  It's better than snow, so I'm not complaining.

5.  I don't get my kids' fascination with Go Diego Go.  Whatever.  They love that show recently--especially Mercedes.  We bought her Beauty and the Beast a couple of months ago but all she ever chooses to watch is Diego.  I guess that would make my friend Layla happy.

6.  I hope that one day I find a skinny console table in the trash to redo.  I think a skinny console would go nice behind the couch (although I'm sure Jon Mark would think that that would shorten our room too much, and he'd probably be right...).

7.  Did you know that paint cans can grow mold?  It's true.  I went to add another coat of paint to the desk I re-did not too long ago, and the can smelled horribly and was full of fuzzy stuff.  It was gross.  I don't know how that happened, I mean, I just used it about a month or so ago.  Oh well.  I guess my desk will have to survive on two coats of paint for a while longer.

8.  Jon Mark has taken two finals and thinks he's done well.  He has only two more left to take before his first year of law school is behind us!  Yipee!  We survived and it wasn't too bad.  I'm proud of my hard-working husband.

Hooray for your mom arriving!

I sure hope your baby isn't transverse -- Joseph was, but we didn't know it until I was completely dilated. So dangerous for him and terrifying for me. emergency c-sections are dreadful, although better than the alternative at that point.

I hope that the baby has moved, and if not that your Dr. will do an external version. You'd be a great candidate for that since it's your third pregnancy. Anyway, Im hoping for great news!

Enjoy having your mom there!
