Joshua's Prayers

I wanted to record some of Joshua's recent prayer phrases.  His prayers are always well-thought out and sometimes rather humorous.  To give some background, Joshua told me the other day that he wishes that he got to have a baby grow in his belly.  I told him that he was meant to be a daddy someday, not a mommy, and that only girls could "grow babies".  I told him it was part of Heavenly Father's plan for women to be mommies and men to be daddies and they have very distinct roles to play.  So of course, he didn't know what "role" meant so we discussed what responsibilities were for the man vs. the woman.  Among other things, I told him that when he's a daddy someday, he will have the responsibility of protecting the mommy and his kids.  The thing he fears most is raccoons and so of course when he is a daddy, he will have to protect his family from those nasty raccoons.  Anyway, that gives some background as to what some of the phrases in his prayers are.

This week, in Joshua's prayers, he has said the following statements:

Dear Heavenly Father:
--Please bless me to someday learn to like my vegetables so that I can grow big muscles.
--Please bless me to grow big muscles so that I can grow up to be a daddy and protect mommy like daddy does.
--Please help me to learn how to share my toys and that Santa will bring me a dinosaur train like on the TV.
--Please help me to protect mommy and Mercedes from the raccoons.
--Please help me to grow to be a daddy and protect mommy from the raccoons and that we will be safe when I am a train conductor on our train that we will paint green.
--Please help me to loose a tooth when it gets loose so that the tooth fairy will come and leave something under my pillow.... like a treat or present.
--Please bless me to know how to get to heaven when I die.

Anyway, he's a funny kid.  I love his prayers.

I thought I was in labor the other day.  I was having serious contractions and pain, but when I got up to walk around, they went away.  Perhaps I just overdid it with all the yard work and house work that I chose to do.  I wanted the house to look nice for when all of our family comes into town.  I figured if I wanted it to get done, it would have to be done now.  So, I planted flowers, raked last fall's leaves, pulled weeds, swept the sidewalks and porch, cleaned the inside and outside of the microwave, vacuumed, dusted, swept and mopped, washed the walls and toilet, cleaned the bathtub, installed a baby gate, vacuumed the windowsills, washed the chairs and table, set up the pack-n-play, washed four loads of laundry (and folded and put away), changed the bed sheets, did the dishes, disinfected all horizontal surfaces, I took a shower and bathed the kids, hauled them all down to scouts, taught a scout lesson, and put the kids to bed... Yeah, it was a busy day.  I am to take it easy from now on... if only I didn't feel so darn restless.
