Painting. Lip. Random.

Here is my latest painting.  I was trying to do an impressionistic painting of the fall colors that I see outside.  It's definitely impressionistic, maybe I should have done it a little more realistic.  But, overall I like it.
Here is my 14 week pregnancy picture.  There's a reason that I'm not really smiling.  I'm not in a bad mood or anything.  My mouth was still numb from oral surgery.  I bit my lip three months ago and it formed a blister that got to be HUGE and it wouldn't go away.  Turns out it was a thing called a Mucecele and they don't go away on their own.  They require surgery.  So, I was the 1 in 500 in the Mucecele statistic (as a side note: think twice about biting your lip).

I know people think it's impossible, but I DID feel the baby move around 12 or 13 weeks.  I felt very distinct little kicks and prods in my lower abdomen.  I love these little sensations because it helps me realize that when I feel super-uber tired or sick, well, it's for a purpose.  It makes dealing with fatigue a little easier.  I know it's not the greatest picture of me, but you can see my little bump.  We're still having a hard time coming up with a boy name.  I guess we've got a long time before we have to really worry about it.  But, I like having the name decided early on so that I can get used to it.  We have our girl name.  Leia.

Mercedes loves being on top of the table.  She'll try everything to get up there.  She saw daddy eating and knew she just had to get up to him so he'd feed her, even though she had just had her own dinner.
Here is my lip.  The stitches start near the very bottom by my teeth and travel all of the way to the surface of my lip where everyone can see them and wonder if I get beat up or if I'm clumsy.  Either way, it's not all that attractive and it hurts bad today.  I was thankful that yesterday I was numb for like eight hours.  I woke up in the middle of the night with it throbbing.  Because I'm pregnant, I can only take Tylenol.  Oh well.  I was sooo ready for that stupid blister to be taken out.  At it's biggest point, it was the size of a marble causing my lip to hang down weird and probably causing people to wonder what the heck kind of disease I had.  I used to pop it like three times a day, but prior to surgery  I was told I wasn't allowed to pop it at all.  So, that's when it got to be the size of a marble.

Here is Jon Mark and Mercedes (16 months).  Mercedes is learning how to smile for the camera and has the cheesiest camera smile--I don't have a picture of it here, but it looks something like the Joshua picture below (who has also perfected the art of the cheesy camera smile).

CHEESE!

I know my house looks messy in this picture.  Sorry.  It was an evening when I was having that pregnancy fatigue on top of just having had oral surgery.  I didn't feel like cleaning.  Mercedes loves putting things on her head for and pretending it's a hat.  Yesterday it was that green bucket.
And, there you have it.  Those are our updates.

Oh, how I love them. Let me count the ways.... Mercedes and Sawyer have a few things in common. Sawyer has the funniest "cheese" smile. I'll put a picture of it on here some day. And he also likes to put things on his head. A big butter tub in particular. I love this age through about 6. We miss you guys!!

What an awful ordeal after just a bitten lip! I am glad it is resolved now, but man, what a pain that all must have been.

That picture of you at 14 weeks is so cute! I love your little bump. And that shirt is adorable!

love your cute baby bump! I too have felt the baby move that early so I believe you! That is the best feeling - makes it all worth it. So sorry about your lip!
