Halloween

I'm awful, I didn't bring my camera to the ward trunk or treat and I didn't take any pictures before hand.  I am a terrible mother!  I did have a friend take some pictures of my kids at the trunk or treat, but I haven't asked for them yet, so this post won't have any pictures.  Joshua was a train, and Mercedes was a BYU cheerleader.  They absolutely loved Halloween.  Mercedes was more interested in stopping each time she got a new piece of candy and trying to eat it.  Joshua knew the concept however, and he really scored big time with the candy.

I put their Halloween buckets up on top of the counter, because I am a scrooge and I was trying to ration how much sugar they ate each day.  Besides, I had Joshua's best interest in mind because every time he eats too much sugar, he always spends the next several hours throwing up.  Then again, maybe I had my best interest in mind--I HATE cleaning up throw up.  When we bought Joshua's new big boy mattress a while ago (a twin sized), Jon Mark told me to go and buy a mattress protector for it.  I procrastinated and sure enough, that very night, Joshua vomited all over it multiple times.  I didn't even know he had thrown up until I went in to check on him a few hours after putting him to bed.  When I opened his door, I almost passed out from the stench.  He was covered head to toe in vomit and so was his new bed with his new Spiderman comforter.  It was absolutely awful!  Trust me... you would hide his candy too.

Anyway, so, Jon Mark and I decided the other day to take a Sunday nap.  This is usually a bomb for me because Joshua always manages to interrupt my nap about ten times (he doesn't take naps anymore, but is supposed to have quiet time and not bug me).  Well, last Sunday I did sleep.  I slept good.  Then, I awoke in a startled state because I realized that it was quiet, too quiet.  So, I ran down the stairs to see what Joshua was up to and to make sure he was in fact okay, and what I found (sorry, again no pictures) was a very chocolaty boy sitting on top of the counter with candy wrappers all around him.  He was devouring his bucket of Halloween candy, and had probably been doing so for the entire hour that I was sleeping.  Luckily, he did not throw up, WHOO HOO!  It's tempting to let that happen again...

That is really funny about the chocolate and Joshua. He is a smart kid. Wish I could have seen it. One more month. :)

I just updated myself on your blog, good job at being consistent with your writing! Mercedes looks like she is getting some more hair :) Will you add my email to the part that will send me email every time you post? I'm adding you right now to mine.
