I feel bad. This is supposed to be our family journal. I print it off into a nice book once a year to document our life together. I was reviewing our last blog book, and the mention of my husband (as awesome as he is) was scarce. So, this post is a long time coming, but I am finally doing it... here are some candid pictures of my one and only.
1. I love that sideways smile. He gives this smile when I tell him to be serious when he is acting like a show-off (whenever I try to take his picture without him acting like a "Greek God").
2. He buys me very unique gifts and puts a lot of thought into the gifts (I would never buy myself a Tapout shirt, but it is kind of an inside joke, and I actually ended up liking it--this was only the tip of the iceburg for what he did for me for Christmas this year, one of many gifts... the others are special to our relationship and have to do with how we both knew we were meant to be together forever... but I won't go into that here... that's for my private journal:).
3. He lets me go crazy on my hair color if I want to. Although it is now blond again, he gave me confidence after I dyed it red.
4. He goes to the zoo with us. He's a great dad. Joshua likes going to the zoo best when dad comes because Jon Mark is all about feeding giraffes, riding on camals, feeding sting rays, and going on the merry-go-round. Mommy just doesn't do all of that.
5. When we go to the zoo, Jon Mark pushes the stroller. I walk in front and he tells me all the time what a nice view that is :)!
6. Yes, I know the above picture is less than flattering (of me... which brings me to my next reason...) When I look like that, he still tells me how beautiful I am. This was the day that I thought I was in labor with Mercedes. Jon Mark held my hand through it all and we walked the mall (until the contractions ended up going away and we would have to wait one more day to be induced).
7. He loves his little girl and she really loves him. He's so good at playing peek-a-boo and she never wants him to stop. No one can get our kids laughing as hard as he can. He's an awesome dad.
8. I didn't think it was possible, but I actually married someone who is a bigger show-off than me (and, yes, that's another quality I love because it makes him so fun to be around)! Here is Jon Mark about to do his famous Greek God pose. He loves the camera, and the camera loves him! When he tells a story, he gets really loud and animated. But it's also really funny. He's the life of the party.
9. The above picture was taken at the science museum. I love how he can act like a big kid. He gets excited to go places like that. Mostly because he likes watching Joshua and Mercedes get excited, but he is also a big kid at heart.
10. He loves his family. When his family is all together, you can be sure there will be good times. But, when we were living in Utah away from everyone but his sisters (and brother inlaw), it was really awesome to see just how much he loves his sisters (yes, Michelle and Jessica, he really, really loves you guys). Before we were married, this was one of the first qualities I observed in him.
11. He's always so cool, calm, and collected... go-with-the-flow kind of guy. I love that, because when I am acting "crazy" he's really calming to me and helps me see that things aren't all that bad.
12. He's super strong, so I always feel safe whenever I am with him. And, when he is gone out of town with the scouts, I always seem to convince myself that "tonight's the night a bad guy will come because Jon Mark is away."
13. He's protective of me and I never have to question just how much he loves me. He treats me amazingly well, even when others may have a difficult time being around me. He's always by my side.
14. He likes it when I act silly. No maturity required around here! I love that I can always be myself and he thinks it's cute. When I giggle without stopping, or do a horrible impersonation, or just act goofy, he likes it.
14. He's not into blogging, nor is he into public declarations of love. So, he probably won't even see this (unless I tell him to look at it), and if he does, he'll probably want me to delete it. But, I am not going to--just because...
These are only a few more reasons as to why I LOVE THIS MAN!

HAHA, that is so true... I loved that post. My favorite part was when you said he loves to be around you even when other don't. I thought "What the heck is she talking about. Does she sometimes smell really bad or something..." then I remembered your infertility phrase. Enough said. HAHAHA I love you sooooooo much!
Barf, Barf, Barf....gag me with a spoon. No, I'm just kidding, that was a sweet post Ralae. I am so glade that he earned you!! We love you soooooo much!!:) Now what are we going to do about Nick and Kevin? Hmmmm.......
