"Being a mother means having your heart broken. And it means loving and losing and falling apart and coming back together. And, it's the best there is, and it's also sometimes the worst. Sometimes you won't have anyone to talk to. And, sometimes you'll wonder if you've forgotten who you are... The truth is being a woman is a gift... and nurturing the good in this world is nothing short of a privilage.... and you must always remember this, that what you're doing matters." I recently stummbled upon a Youtube video about motherhood, and of course I loved it (it was beautifully worded). It got me thinking about motherhood, and just how wonderful it is to be a woman. I know I complain at times about all of the difficult stuff women have to go through, but I would never trade places with Jon Mark even if I could. What I love about my Joshua:
I love his long eyelashes. Both of my children have long eyelashes, they must have gotten that from Jon Mark because I have ALWAYS wanted long eyelashes and mine are far from it.
I love the way he imitates my facial expressions (he gets this from his daddy too). Sometimes I don't even realize that my expression may look a little silly until I see him trying his hardest to copy me.
I love that he loves to sing. He sings really well and easily learns the words and tunes. He often says to me, "Mom, sing this song." Then he tries to remember a song he had heard earlier and sings it to me so that I know which song he is referring to.
I love how he read and reread his card from his Aunt Jessica. He waltzed around the house repeating: "Good Morning. I love you SOOO much." Because that's all that he thought the card said. It was really cute. He loved getting mail!
I love his belly laugh. He LOVES to laugh, and sometimes if he wants to laugh but there's really nothing all that funny to laugh at, he will force out a belly laugh over and over again.
I love how Joshua sighs right before he says, "I love you, Mom."
I love it when Joshua runs around in circles around Mercedes because she thinks it is funny.
The other day, I was cooking and using Marsala cooking wine. Joshua thought that the bottle looked like a rootbeer bottle (he LOVES rootbeer). He kept asking me for some. I kept telling him that it wasn't rootbeer and he kept trying to convince me that he liked whatever it was that was in there, he just wanted some of it. Finally, I said to him, "No, Joshua. You can't have that, it's alcohol." He turned to me and said, "but Mommy, I love alcohol." That led into a whole other conversation.
I love how Joshua talks about his Lord. He loves Jesus, and that just makes my heart all warm and fuzzy.
I love how he always includes Santa Claus in his prayers. He's always including other various items in his prayers to be thankful for as well... the floor, the ceiling, the chimney (we don't even have a chimney), and Santa Claus.
What I love about Mercedes:
I love her laugh too. She has also inherited her brothers belly laugh. She is easily amused, which is a good thing, because Joshua thinks he is really funny. She's always good to laugh at his antics.
I love the shape of her eyes. She's got gorgeous eyes that really pop out at you when she wears blue (Jess, I'll have to post a picture of her in your dress).
I love how cuddly she is. She adores being held and kissed. The tighter, the better. She loves it.
I love how much she loves me. At the train park, she was in her stroller with my mom who was filming us on the train. She hadn't seen me for awhile, so when the train passed by her I called out to her loudly so she'd hear my voice and look up. It was so cute when she recognized me. She pulled her thumb out of her mouth and gave me the. biggest. surprised. smile. ever. *melt*.
I love how when I try reading to her, she tries her hardest to eat the book.
I love how she is trying to skip the whole crawling/scooting stage and pushes right up to a "bear crawl" position with her butt straight up in the air.
I love how she did crawl for a cookie today. I kept moving it out of her grasp and she did what I have been waiting for her to do for.ev.er. She crawled/scooted for it!
I love how cute she is when she sucks her thumb.
I love how she loves peas (frozen ones), and blueberries (frozen ones), and banannas (not frozen :).
I do love being a woman.

Ah, I really like this post. I will have to copy it. Those are some great pictures of Mercedes. She is a doll.
There are a lot of great pictures of Mercedes. You have such beautiful, sweet children! What a great post. I love our calling in life!
That was so sweet Ralae! I love you guys. Joshua and Mercedes are so cute. Convince my dad to fly us down for the move. Don't forget to post pictures of the dress and tell Joshua I love him! By the way tell my brother that he is okay but only because of his association.
