This is my little man. Ahhh, the joys of beginning to potty train. I'll admit, I haven't been too diligent recently. When I got home from his 18 month appointment, four months ago, I was way excited and gung-ho about starting the potty training procedure. I did everything that the packet told me to do. I bought him a potty (as shown in the picture), I pointed out animals who were going potty, I invited him to invade my own privacy in the bathroom, we talked all about why his body makes poo poo and pee pee, I even went as far as to make up a "poopy" song so that diaper changing would be a pleasant experience (you know, so that he'd want to come tell me when his body made some poop). If you want to know my poopy song, just keep reading and I'll post it (Lindsay, my sister made up the alternate version that Joshua seems to enjoy more because she makes a farting noise with her mouth at the end).
Anyway, Joshua started out doing really well. I knew he was ready because when he'd be playing and all of a sudden need to go potty, he'd get up and run to my closet (his private place that he's decided to use as his potty room). He'd shut the door and stay there til he was finished and all of my clothes smelled. Plus, if ever he doesn't have a diaper on, he knows not to pee or poop on the floor (that doesn't mean he won't, he just states after the fact that he knows better). He began to sit on his potty (with his diaper still on) and poop. I thought that was great! It didn't last long. He's recently developed a hateful relationship with his potty, he hates to sit on it. With Mercedes being born any day now, I decided that perhaps I'd leave potty training to a later date. As much as I hate purchasing diapers, I guess I'll have to suck it up and buy two sets of diapers for a while after my girl is born.
The Poopy Song (sung to that primary song "I love mommy, yes I do..."):
I love poopy, yes I do,
I love poopy, how 'bout you?
We love poopy, and so you see... poopy makes for a happy tummy!
Yay for Poo Poo!
Alternate Version (Lindsay's Version):
I love poopy, it loves me,
We love poopy, yesiree.
We love poopy and so you see, we are a poopy family! (Add farting noise here if you so desire)

You forgot to add that I created the alternative version in fun of your silly songs you make up sometimes. Besides he likes my song better. :)
I love the song! I actually tried to think of one recently for Ian, but came up with nothing near that good! I am going to steal it when we starting potty training... which won't be for a while!
Did you post this before or after we all made fun at dinner? :) Is there going to be a baby this week?
