We have been counting our blessings recently. I have felt so blessed by the hand of our Heavenly Father, and I know he has sent his angel's to watch after our children. A few weeks ago, Joshua fell off of Nick's shoulders. He got a very large bump on the back of his head, it looked horrible. He was acting fine initially, but as the minutes passed, his vision became very "jumpy" and eventually he threw up (at the hospital all over the floor). He had a concussion.
My dad went with me to meet Jon Mark at the hospital and they administered a priesthood blessing to him before they took him back for an MRI. I believe that things would have turned out quite differently if Joshua hadn't been given a priesthood blessing. But, he was released the next day acting 100% like Joshua again.
Hannah had been under careful watch recently as well. At her 3 month ultrasound, the tech found a pea sized hemangioma on her liver. It posed the danger of rupturing and causing internal bleeding, which then could be fatal. It also posed the danger of being cavernous and eating away at her liver. Both scenarios caused me to feel uneasy, of course. She also received a blessing. The ultrasound following her 3 month ultrasound showed the hemangioma as stable. It had not grown or shrunk, it was just stable. Well, last week I took her in for another ultrasound and the tech looked bewildered. She asked me if Hannah had been on any medicine for the hemangioma or if the doctor's had done anything about it. I replied no, and inquired as to why she would ask such a question. She said that she couldn't find any remnants of it and was going to look with a more powerful camera. Those results just got back and the hemangioma literally just disappeared! And, her blood levels were the best that they have been! The doctor was very excited about the great news. These hemangiomas do not typically just go away. We feel blessed by this miracle.
Both of these instances could have resulted in very different outcomes. It's amazingly humbling to me when I can so clearly see the Lord's hand in my life, blessing the lives of my children. I am so thankful. I am thankful for prayer and for the priesthood power.
