Mercedes

Mercedes has said some pretty silly things recently.  I needed to write them down before I forgot about them.

The other day, I was wearing a hat and she told me she hated that hat.  She said it with such passion it was astounding.  I asked her why and with a furrow in her brow she said it was because it didn't have any princesses on it, but that if it did have princesses on it, then she would love it.  She has come to enjoy using such strong, passionate words such as "hate" and "love".  One day last week she was watching me put hot-rollers in my hair.  I haven't done so in a long time.  Anyway, when all of the rollers were in my hair, she exclaimed, "WOW!  MOM!  You look SO BEAUTIFUL!!!  I LOVE those things you have in your hair! Can I have some in my hair?"  She was disappointed when I took them out.

As she was playing video games on my Kindle the other day, she was getting frustrated that the video she wanted to watch wasn't working.  She kept trying huffing as she kept trying to no avail.  Finally, she said in a rather forceful tone, "I command you to work!"

When she plays with her princess dolls, she refuses to have any princes because she hates them (again, she loves the word "hate").  Jon Mark asked them why she hated them so much and she began to tell this very sad sob story about a boy who was mean to her.  Jon Mark thought she telling a true story at first until she said that he lived in Utah.  Apparently, a mean boy in Utah says that she's a boy, when she's not, she's a girl, and so she hates him.  He isn't nice and he says mean things.  His name is Pepperoni Max and he is mean and so she hates princes now.

Aww!  We love our Mercedes.  She is always passionate and spunky!
