I found these older pictures on my parents computer and wanted to add them here. Luke loves his sister, and as long as he isn't trying to push her face into the ground during tummy time, we can trust him with her. She's great at rolling all over the place. He has a fun time watching her do it. Luke has been a little defiant lately, I'm not sure why. Jon Mark keeps reminding me that he's two and that all of our children have had bouts of being onery around the age of two. Today we came home from the store and he refused to get out of the van. It drove me nuts. He tried biting me when I went to get him. Then, he kept grabbing hold of anything and everything to keep me from dragging him out of the car. He's cute, though. It's often that I am reminded of how quickly they grow and how it won't be like this for long. Usually the person who is doing the reminding is the lady standing beind me at the check-out. That little nugget of knowledge (of how quickly time flies) makes me happy and sad at the same time. Truth be told, I'll miss my little ankle-biters when I can finally go to the store by myself. We love Luke in all of his stubborn moods! He is a sweetheart!
Mercedes is silly. She loves to swim, but she swims vertically with her face out of the water. Such interesting swimming is fine, so long as a wave doesn't come along and find it's way directly into her mouth and nose. Today she wanted to watch TV and I told her that I didn't want her to right then. Later, I found her hiding my Kindle from me. When I questioned her about it, she admitted to having figured out how to turn on Netflix on my Kindle and was watching a movie. Smart girl. She's so pretty and fiesty. She's cheeky and stingy with kisses. We love her!
Joshua and I ride our bikes together to school every morning. I love this one on one time with him. Today he asked me why I didn't home school him like Tyler is homeschooled. I told him that dad and I had talked about it and that as long as he keeps getting awesome teachers, we would keep him in public school. He asked if he would ever be home schooled, and I told him if his teachers all started teaching him bad things of the world, then maybe we would consider it. He replied, "yeah, like if one of my teachers started teaching me that we shouldn't recycle or if they started teaching me things like Obama teaches." Gotta love him!
Hannah loves to talk, and sometimes she is quite loud. She is a McAvoy through and through. She rolls over both ways and smile constantly. She still nurses all night long, but she falls asleep so quickly afterward that I don't mind too much. She loves me talking to her very close and quiet. She loves being held upright facing out so she can see everything and everyone. She's patient and sweet. We love her!
