I have been teaching dance for about two years to some cute little munchkins. They come to my house every week for an hour and we courtsey, walk like princesses, bounce, learn directional dances with bean bags and ribbons, do interpretive dance, glide and
kick, leap and spin, practice increasing our flexibility with doing the splits, and we have recently been practicing our piques. Fun stuff.
Sometimes they're crazy, but what can you expect from 11 girls ages three and four (with a two year here and there). But most often we have a great time. Mercedes really enjoys her dancer friends and it's a highlight to her week. She has actually gotten pretty good at dancing and can almost do a full split. She tells me that when she grows up she wants to be a Mommy, but right now she wants to be a ballerina. All of my kids watched the Nutcracker and were entertained, but Mercedes was quite taken by the ballerinas.
By the way, I'd like to point out that finally at the age of three, Mercedes has hair that is long enough for two braids. I have waited a lllooonnnngggg time for this day to come!
