Again, I wish I had thought of taking a before picture... I didn't. I did, however, remember to take an "after". Here she is:This dresser has been in my family (extended) for longer than I have been alive. I really don't know where it came from, or who built it. I just know that it sat in the Lakeside cabin all throughout my childhood. I think it held art supplies. It probably held many things over the course of the years. Anyway, when I received it, it was in need of a facelift. The varnish was coming off and it had a lot of knicks and scratches. The original color is the same color as the knobs. I wanted to replace the knobs with some antique porcelin ones, but I didn't bid high enough on ebay. I only bid $5 and they went for $.50 more. Yeah, that was a disappointment. I guess it wasn't meant to be. The original ones look fine, I guess. It gives it kind of an eclectic feel. Here is the distressed beauty again:
Let's hope that the original patina didn't contain any lead... because I am pregnant and all. I did wear a mask. Just FYI.
