Part of the difficulty of this photo shoot (other than the cliff, mosquitoes, and chilly air) was holding Lukey Bear. I forgot to bring along a stroller, and so I held him in one hand while I snapped pictures in the other. I finally sat him down for a moment, and he was so interested in eating the dead leaves. One good thing about the photo shoot being outside was that whenever Lukey spit up, it just looked like bird turd and I didn't have to clean it up. One more milestone has almost been reached, he is now rocking on his knees and attempting to crawl. One week shy of six months makes him my earliest baby to ever try this. He'll be crawling in no time. I wonder if it's because he's not as fat as the other two were. He's still chubby, but I think that the spitting up and the sleeping through the night (hence no night feedings) make him weigh less. I don't know though, he's still a big baby. Lurking somewhere in the guilty part of my being is the thought that perhaps it's because he's on the floor more than the other two were. I don't seem to have as much time to just sit and hold him. He's still such a sweetie.

Joshua wasn't interested in getting his picture taken. He was having too much fun chasing Maggie and Lilly around (and getting much too close to the edge of the cliff). He was pretending to grind wheat the whole time. I did manage to get a few good ones of him in spite of his efforts to run away every time I tried to take his pictures. Stinker Winker.

Mercedes was Miss Photogenic on the day of the photo shoot. She wanted to wear this dress I made for her because she believes it's a princess dress. Whenever I put it on her, she spends a few minutes twirling in it. Then she spends another few minutes admiring herself while telling me over and over again that she is a princess. I'm glad she likes it. I made it from an old skirt and part of a table cloth. I didn't follow a pattern, but Nikki explained to me some of the tricky parts about what I had envisioned. I think it is cute. I tried to get her to wear a sweater over it, because it is cold, but she refused. Mercedes never sucks her fingers, thumb-yes-fingers-no. She looked at her best friend Olivia who was sucking on her fingers and I guess she thought it looked cute so she did it for a couple of pictures. These two girls are such good friends and they have really begun to play well together.

I think he's crawling earlier because he wants to get to the big kids! :)
P.S. Have I ever told you how jealous I am that you and Nikki live next door to each other? Well there... I said it. ;) And I'm ultra jealous that you have a metropark in your backyard! So fun!
