Recent Pix, Tidbits

1. It's warming up.  I can see grass!  It's brown, yellow, and ugly... but it is one of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen!  I think that spring is going to be my new favorite season.
2.  Mercedes and I have been sick.  My poor little girl has been miserable at night with all of her coughing.  I don't really know what to do for her.  I heard that a tsp of honey can work wonders, vick's vapor rub on the bottom of the feet is supposed to help, and that this natural herb stuff my mom gave me is supposed to knock the cold clear out of her.  So, I have been doing all three things.  Today she seems a little better... maybe.  Now, if only I could get a full 8 hours of sleep at night, then maybe I'd feel better too.
3. Joshua wet the bed twice last night.  The third time that he woke me up I wasn't too patient.  I went to feel his underwear to see if it was truely possible for him to have wet the bed three times in one night and I was perplexed to find his underwear dry.  So, then I looked at him with wonderment while thinking, "is it really possible that he is actually waking up to tell me that he needs to pee?"  And, sure enough he was!  He woke up before wetting the bed!  Does anyone else see what a wonderful thing that is?!  I think I scared him in that wee hour of the morning when I praised him so much.
4. The mailman has begun to deliver mail to my house again.  The six inch ice on my steps is GONE.  That's also great news.
5. Jon Mark continues to study like crazy, and I am amazed at how he is able to keep up with it all.  He studies until about 4:30.  Plays with the kids while I make dinner.  Eats with us and then goes back upstairs to study.  Comes down at about 8:30 to spend time with me.  I go to bed and he goes back upstairs to study until midnight or so.  Wakes up at 8 to study.  Goes to school.  And, the whole process of endless studying repeats itself.  I don't know how he does it, but I am thankful that he tries so hard to get good grades so that our future may have AZ or UT in it.  If the Lord's will aligns with ours and all.
6.  "The Baby" causes my belly to look like it is inhabited by some alien creature with the way "it" moves about.  Mercedes seriously thinks something is very wrong when she sees it and glares at my belly like it is the strangest thing on earth.  I remember the first time I saw Michelle's belly move like mine currently is (when she was pregnant with Gavin).  I also thought it was the absolute most strangest thing I had ever seen and I questioned whether or not she had recently been abducted by aliens.  Actually, I thought it was hilarious and I couldn't stop laughing for like twenty minutes.
7.  If the baby is a girl we have a name.  We have a first name, but we were stuck on a middle name.  We wanted the middle name to be something related to family, our mom's more specifically, so we combined Brockman with Lea (which is Jon Mark's mom's maiden name and my mom's middle name).  We came up with Brea by doing so (BREE).  Turns out, the name means "beauty beyond sight".  So, as long as Jon Mark doesn't change his mind, that will definitly be the middle name for our next girl.  If it's a boy, his middle name will be Edwin (after my dad).  I think Jon Mark wanted the first name for the girl to be a surprise, so I don't know if I should type it in here.  But, if you seek me out, you know I'll tell all.  I guess my family already knows anyway, because I didn't know I was supposed to keep it a secret.

keeping baby name secrets is so over-rated! :)

Hope you feel better soon!
