It's the Mom Life

Okay, so I saw this funny video on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZa7hU6tP_s (sorry, I don't know how to embed the video itself).  It's seriously so true to so many dads out there. 

Anyway, after a day of serious frustration, I decided to make my own little rap for moms.  Now, I am still a white girl trying to get my ghetto on, but it was a good way to positively review my morning.  All of the following really did occur in one morning.

It's the mom life, it's the mom life, don't worry 'bout a thing cuz it's the mom life...
There's a tug on my sleeve it's a quarter after five,
He says he's hungry and I wish I weren't alive

But I trot down the stairs with my hair all a mess,
I pour a bowl of cereal, I know it's not the best

But it's the mom life, it's the mom life, don't worry 'bout a thing cuz it's the mom life.

I look around at all the things I need to do,
The clothes need washing, the kids do too

Is there a place in this house that's just mine,
Why is the potty a party all the time?
If I close the door there's a crying fit,
But if I let them in, they watch me (pause) sit!

It's the mom life, it's the mom life, don't worry 'bout a thing cuz it's the mom life.

One diaper to change, the other has potty power,
I must remind him to go pee in one hour

Potty power?  Well, I guess maybe not,
Because now I see he didn't poop in the pot.
So I get out my rags and my carpet spray and I'm on my knees just like I was yesterday.

Then it's into the tub for a quick washdown,
My patience is wearing but I try not to frown.

Cuz, it's the mom life, it's the mom life, don't worry 'bout a thing cuz it's the mom life.

I run a brush through my hair no time for my blush,
Turn around, too late, to save a toy from being flushed.

Throw some clothes on the kiddos and and throw some on me,
Who cares if it matches "mom, I gots to pee!"

Two car seats buckled, one shoe missing
Oh well it's too late, I'll keep on wishing
For that nap in two hours that will bring some time
For me to do whatever I want that's just fine

"I love you mommy!"
"I love you, too."
"You're the best ever."
"I'm stuck to you like glue!"
