What I love about Jon Mark today:
He spontaneously played with my hair last night while we watched a movie. I love it when he plays with my hair.
He bought me a "new" used van.
He's pretty much awesome in every way (except when he leaves his dirty clothes right next to the hamper instead of in it)
What I love about Mercedes today:
She has been really cute lately. She loves trying to put on her clothes and when she finds any clothes on the ground, she puts them on her head and crawls/walks around the house with it hanging on her head (if it falls off, she puts it right back on).
Today she was barefoot and stepped on one of Joshua's toys. She got upset because it hurt and started to jabber in an angry way. Then she mad-crawled over to her shoes and picked them up, walked back to me and handed them to me to put them on her feet.
Today she wanted to see Joshua while he was in the bathtub. Before when she has tried getting to the tub, she has slipped because the floor was wet. So, as she was making her way to the tub, she bent down and felt the floor before standing on it. Then, she'd take a few steps, bend down, touch the floor and take a few more steps. She kept doing this until she made it to the tub safely.
What I love about Joshua today:
This conversation actually happened a couple of weeks ago.
Joshua: Mommy, Mercedes is a little red caboose. And, you are a pretty freight car.
Me: Oh, and what is Daddy?
Joshua: Daddy is a BIG, POWERFUL Engine.
Me: What are you?
Joshua: I am a big engine too!
(Michelle, you will be relieved to hear this) I also love that he now knows how to swim. We have been doing swimming lessons almost daily everyday this summer. At the beginning of the summer, he was afraid of the water and we had a lot of obstacles to overcome. But, after much persistence, creativity, and persuasion, I can now say that he can swim all by himself. Last night he was quite the little fish. He got to the point where he could swim half the length of the pool and all the length width wise. I was so proud of him.
