I know Easter was a while ago, but we're still in the month of April, so I thought why not?! Easter was great. Joshua really got into all things "Easter". The egg hunting, candy, and Easter Bunny was really a lot of fun. He really enjoyed it, and he loved that the Easter Bunny knew he wanted to be a pilot when he grows up (he got a toy airplane in his basket). But, what I adored most was how much he internalized and loved the Easter Pageant at the temple. It's been a few weeks since he has seen it, but he still talks all about how "Heavenly Father was sad that his son had to die. But, Jesus came back and went really, really high in the sky. There was lots and lots of loud thunder and lots and lots of lightning, but Jesus came back." It's really sweet.
Mercedes really had no clue as to all that was going on. I put her in a tutu for pictures, and she was quite content:
Then, her brother came along and started to "play" with her.
This is how Joshua looked when I left for two seconds to go to the bathroom--innocently playing with his sister and smiling.
Now, I'm not sure what happened in the two seconds I was gone (seriously, it was two seconds--I'll save you the details, but I was in the middle of something when I heard the screaming), but when I came running out of the bathroom, this is how I found my baby girl:
Here's another shot of the beauty:
Here's what I think happened, I think Joshua was playing, got a little carried away and chucked his sippy cup at his sister (not to be mean, but out of excitement). Regardless of the intent, Joshua was punished for his crime. Time out occurred, and we post-poned the Easter Bunny's arrival at Mom Mom's house. He earned it back, however. My poor little girl had quite the goose egg on her nogin.
