Miss M, Happy Birthday!

We had a birthday party for Miss Mercedes this past week.  She wanted a Tinkerbell party and Mommom made some awesome decorations for it.  She was thrilled.

We had all of the aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents there, along with Leyla, Andy, David, Mia, and Great Grandma Haws.  Bethany and Courtney also came.  It was a lot of fun.  Mercedes was amazed by how many presents she got and was kind of funny to watch as she opened them.  She was in turbo mode.

At the party, we played many Tinkerbell related games, we sang and danced, we ate a Tinkerbell cake, the girls dressed like fairies and the boys had some Peter Pan hats that Grandma Haws made.

Mercedes, it has been a pleasure being your mother for the past four years.  You are so dramatic and fun.  You're full of life and you love being with your family.  You enjoy being a big sister to Hannah and you are quite a big help with her.  Mercedes, you love to sing.  I hope you will always love music.  You're good at it, too!  You know Hannah's birth song, and you like to sing it to her.  You love singing to Les Miserables in the car.  I love how you always want to be with Joshua, and I hope you will be good friends throughout your life.  You get frustrated with Luke sometimes, but you're good at remembering that he's still a little kid and may not understand the proper way to act.  You try to be patient with him as he learns to share.

Mercedes, at the age of four, your favorite color is pink.  Your favorite song is I Am A Child of God.  Your favorite thing to do is play princesses.  You beg people to play princesses with you, but you play so uniquely that other people find it hard to know how to play it.  Your best friends are your cousins.  You love to swim.  You love your new running shoes.  You have fun chasing your brothers around and around.  You get grumpy in the morning if you wake up too early, and sometimes you beg to go to bed.  You're afraid of even the tiniest bugs.  You sound like you have a British accent at times, and Grandma thinks it's because you watch the show Angelina Ballerina.  At four years old, you go to Sunbeams and like to sit on your teacher's lap.  You sing the primary songs in the car and know most of them by heart.  You have such a pretty smile and a cute little laugh.  You say funny things-- we're still working on teaching you not to use potty talk to make your brothers laugh.  You like to say that Hannah is cute as a beaut.  Joshua thinks your saying "boot" but you correct him and say beaut.  You tell him that beaut is another word for princess.  You also like to be told that your prettiful, not beautiful.  I like the words you make up.  You're such a sweet little feisty girl and we love you!!!
