Joshua being Joshua

Joshua has done some pretty funny things recently. He's really been into driving. He loves to pretend to drive. He knows that keys go next to the steering wheel and so with his own "car" notice where he places my keys.

He is really showing that he understands lately. The other day, I needed to box up the stuff that's under the bed. Because of my huge belly, I can't obviously crawl under the bed anymore. So, I said, "Joshua, can you crawl under the bed and get all of that stuff out?" And, he did! He crawled on his belly back and forth to bring me every last item. When it was all done, he layed his head down on his arms (still under the bed) and let out a tired sigh.

Then, yesterday, Beckah (my niece who Joshua calls "Caca"), was being very naughty. She was leaving the grass area and trying to run on the sidewalk. We wanted them to play in the grass so that we didn't have to chase them everywhere. Lindsay kept yelling, "Beckah, stay here." in this very annoyed tone. Then, she asked Joshua to tell Beckah to come back. Joshua ran to the edge of the grass and very sternly yelled, "CACA!" Then, he ran back to Lindsay and spoke in jibberish to tell her that she didn't listen. Then, he'd run back and yell, "CACA!" again and motion toward the grassy area. It was really cute. He loves his cousin.

He has also made a new best friend. His stuffed monkey, Leo, is his new favorite toy. He carries Leo around everywhere and talks to him in a very sweet voice. He gives Leo kisses and hugs and sings to him for a really long time before he falls asleep at night. Whenever someone new comes over, he has to show them Leo, but he expects them to cuddle up with Leo and kiss him the way he does. If they don't do that, Joshua gets a very confused look on his face and then takes Leo back offended.

How fun! He's such a cute boy. Love how he looks out for his cousin! And the stuffed animal named Leo, that is just so sweet. Grandma told me that Grandpa fell the other day. I wish we were closer so that our kids could get to know them better. We are blessed to live by almost all our other ones though.
