Pets

Growing up we had all different kinds of animals. We had chickens, guinie pigs, dogs, birds, bunnies, and at one point we even rescued a Hawk and called it our own (we never had this many pets at one time, however). Surprisingly, we never owned cats (thank goodness). My little sister was always the pet-lover in the family, and for the most part, she's the one who took care of them. To put it lightly, I am NOT an animal person. I don't like touching them (because then I feel I must wash my hands), I don't like cleaning up after them or bathing them, and I don't like the way they smell. It took me a month to notice that my parents gave away our dog--that's pretty bad. Anyway, I always swore that I wouldn't own pets when I got older. But, after taking Joshua to the mall and showing him the puppies, I decided that I may need to reconsider my stance on the issue. He LOVES dogs! His whole face lights up and he laughs and laughs when he sees them. How can I deny him of man's best friend? Yes, I believe that when he's old enough to ask for one, we will be getting a dog.

I feel the same way about animals- I'd just rather not touch them most of the time. But kids love animals so much. What cute pictures Ralae!

I'm not in to animals either. I know exactly what you mean with the washing the hands after you touch one feeling! You are much sweeter than I am, for I still won't get one no matter how much my kids adore them:)
