We got my parents old table when we moved. It was very old and appeared to have been refinished many times without ever having been sanded down to the naked wood. It had many scrapes and needed a lot of touching up. In fact, a friend of mine and myself had carved our initials into it when we were teenagers thinking we'd never get caught... we were wrong. So, after all those years I am finally paying for mistreating my parents furniture. Here I am sanding it down. I will have to put another picture on here showing the final product.

I think your table looks wonderful! Good job sanding it done and painting it. Jon Mark didn't think you could do it, but you did. You have a very nice home.
